2023 Transmoto 8-Hour at Miva Station Won’t Go Ahead in 2023
Bad day to be a Queenslander because, sorry folks, the Transmoto 8-Hour at Miva Station won’t go ahead in 2023.
Prolonged approvals with Gympie Council regarding the host venue continue and don’t look like being resolved any time soon. So, rather than string everyone along, we’ve made the call to kick the can down the road and try and get it approved for 2024 and beyond.
We won’t bore you with the red tape, but the short of it is that planning permission has not been granted for the event to proceed this year (the event ran under a special, “one off” event permit in 2022, and that permit has not been granted for 2023).
One of the more difficult elements of running these awesome events is finding willing (and supportive) councils that welcome the two-wheeled tribe to their region. Some are easy, some aren’t, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. Each event tips about $200K into the local region over the weekend, which you’d think would be a good reason to get us all along.
Sorry, everyone. We’ll keep chipping away at it and hopefully get this fantastic venue back on Transmoto’s event calendar from next year.
Cheers,
– The Transmoto Crew
