JUNIORS AT TRANSMOTO EVENTS – FAQS ANSWERED

How do Junior riders score an entry into a Transmoto Enduro Event?

Just like everybody else, Juniors pre-enter online (but probably with the help of their parent and/or guardian to fill out the digital entry form and make the payment). The entry fee is $50 per rider. If Junior riders do not have a current annual Junior MA Licence, they will need to pre-purchase a One Event Recreational Licence for $43 through the event’s online entry system.

Is it a race or ride?

It’s a fun ride; a non-competitive trail loop that’s staged on Saturday afternoon between 11am and 2pm, in conjunction with Ladies Loop riders.

What’s the loop like?

This Juniors Loop is typically 6-8km in length, and incorporates a few sections of Sunday’s race loop. It remains close to the event’s HQ and includes a variety of natural-terrain grasstrack, bush tracks and trails. Sweep riders circulate at the top and tail of the field for the first couple of laps, after which kids can cut laps at their own pace.

What ages does it cater to?

The Juniors Loop is staged at selected events, with a limited number of entries available for kids aged between nine and 15. Any rider who is 16 as of the date of the event is not eligible to enter the Juniors Loop.

Which events will Juniors run at in 2025?

For 2025, a Juniors Loop has been added to the Narrabri (NSW, Miva Station (Qld), Macleay Valley (NSW) and Eskdale (Vic) events.

What about sign-on, scrutineering and riders’ briefing?

Juniors/Ladies Loop riders should aim to get to the venue’s front gate by at least 9am, which is when the pit paddock’s gate opens. If you leave it any later than that, you run the risk of getting stuck in the queue of cars and missing out on the 9-10am window set aside for Juniors/Ladies riders to complete their rider registration and bike/helmet scrutineering. Remember this must all be done prior to the 10:45am riders briefing, which all riders and their parents/guardians must attend under the start/finish arch.

Can Junior riders camp overnight at the venue?

For Juniors/Ladies Loop riders who aren’t already pitting/camping with family/friends/guardians entered to race Sunday’s 8-Hour, a small separate camping area will be set aside (for Saturday night only). When you arrive at the venue and go through the in-car Rider Registration process, please let officials know whether this applies to you or not (as it will determine which camping area you’re directed to).

Can parents join in?

Parents or Guardians who would like to accompany their kid(s) on this short loop will also need to sign on as temporary sweep riders at the event’s HQ on Saturday morning, and ensure their own bike and helmet has also been through scrutineering. But please note this option is only available to parents/guardians whose child is particularly inexperienced.

Why did Transmoto introduce Juniors at selected events?

To help create a non-intimidating and accessible pathway for young riders to experience enduro racing in a fun, safe, family-oriented environment. The groms froth about getting the first crack at a few sections of Sunday’s race track, and then get to hang around to play support crew and cheer squad for Sunday’s race.
